Can you imagine being chased by a fifteen foot tall Nephilim? Have you ever been
carried away to a place you do not want to be, by a person you do not want to be with?
Learn how Brie, the thirteen year old female heroine of the latest historical fiction/ fantasy novel, MYSTERY OF THE STURBRIDGE KEYS, successfully deals with this problem.
Chapter by chapter Brie, along with her cousin and best friend, Abby, deal with the traumas and questions of life. Together they tackle one of the biggest questions, Is God real or fantasy?
Brie attends the Christmas by Candlelight celebration at Old Sturbridge Village with her mother Sarah, her brother Greg. Also invited along on this trip by Grammy Rose, is her beloved cousin Abby, and Abby’s twin brother, Abe, and their mother Cher.
The family tours Sturbridge, MA during the day, prior to the night’s gala event, filled with horse-drawn sleigh and stagecoach rides, and workshops in all the fire-stoked houses, shops, bank, and Meeting Houses, reminiscent of the 1830s village.
The family gets separated between the carriage ride and the annual Gingerbread House contest. Half of the family time travels to experience history, ancient and pre-history first hand. The other half of the family learns the real history of the Underground Railroad, and Harriet Tubman who is going to be on the front of the new $20 bill by the year 2020.
This novel also shed a light on former Presidents Jimmy Carter and Barack Obama, who in reality are eighth cousins, and both related to English royalty through William the Conqueror and Charlemagne.
Brie’s adventures continue when she and Abby babysit baby Jesus, for two years. They get to see the three wise men who arrive by Bactrian camels. The wise men and Joseph all have strange dreams, so vivid that it motivates the wise men to depart from a different route, and Jesus, Mary and Jesus to flee to Egypt.

While Brie and part of her family time travel, her remaining family is attending Old Sturbridge Village’s 70th Anniversary in 2016, featuring the Christmas By Candlelight annual celebration. Brie’s mother, Sarah, her brother Greg and her cousin Abe, who is Abby’s twin, enjoy a fascinating journey through the Underground Railroad with Harriet Tubman, Abraham Lincoln, Charles Darwin, Charles Dickens, Panic of 1837, an introduction to the Rev. Adin Ballou, angels and Santa Claus; all presented in the many historic buildings that make up the Village.
The book’s timely publication covers the April 20, 2016 announcement by the United States Treasury planning to put Harriet Tubman’s picture on the front of the $20 bill, moving President Andrew Jackson to the back in the year 2020. Fascinating information between President Abraham Lincoln and Charles Darwin is also included in this work of fiction. The names of Old Sturbridge Village including all of the buildings at this location, and the Christmas by Candlelight celebration are real. However, I have never attended the Christmas by Candlelight celebration, and the adventures in this book are pure exciting fiction.
