Book buyers who missed out on this opportunity to purchase this timely treasure, had a second opportunity to purchase this popular book on December 9, 2016 from 6:30 to 9 p.m., at the Night Owl Christmas Open House at The Bird Store And More, 4 Cedar Street, Sturbridge.

back-cover-copyThe historical adventure novel commemorated the 70th anniversary of Old Sturbridge Village in 2016.

The book begins at the Christmas by Candlelight celebration, complete with horse-drawn sleigh and stagecoach rides on snow-covered dirt roads. For the cast of family members remaining in real-time, they learn history by attending workshops in the 1830s buildings, bank, churches, and homes.

Other family members discover a secret hidden library and a set of antique keys which unlock antique locked books, transporting them into recent, ancient and pre-history. They learn how the real history of Christmas and Santa Claus, and the Babylonian, Mede-Persian, Greek and Roman Empires affect Old Sturbridge Village in 1830, shedding light and understanding on why Villagers of that time believe what they do.
